Our Programs

Economic Empowerment & Entrepreneurship

A key part of the NCNW mission is to empower women of African descent, along with their families and communities. We accomplish this by sharing valuable information designed to support women and their families in achieving their economic and financial goals.

Bethune-Height Changemaker Pathways

Health Equity

The Health Equity Committee, led by Chair Sharah Denton and Co-Chair Dr. Angelia Elgin, focuses on six key health priorities: Affordable Health Care, Breast Cancer, COVID-19, Maternal Health, Mental Health, and HIV/AIDS.

Comprised of experts and professionals from diverse backgrounds and experiences across the country, the committee is dedicated to advancing health equity. It also collaborates closely with the Good Health WINs initiative to drive impactful change.

For more information or to connect with the committee, please email healthcommittee@ncnw.org.

COVID-19/GoodHealthWINs

Good Health WINS begins with education. Our advocates understand the importance of immunizations and are working to create an infrastructure for good health. This is achieved by reducing health disparities, increasing vaccination opportunities, vaccination education and identifying the drivers of vaccine hesitancy.

S.T.E.A.M. & Education

We are dedicated to developing strategies that remove barriers limiting STEAM opportunities in both the workplace and the classroom for many hardworking American families.

Despite ongoing efforts to enhance technological proficiency, a significant digital divide persists, disproportionately impacting Black communities and women. At the same time, the national economy faces challenges due to a shortage of individuals prepared for science-related careers, including those in aviation.

To address these issues, NCNW has forged partnerships with organizations committed to fostering interest in STEAM, expanding access to STEAM education, increasing awareness of technology careers, and promoting equal opportunities in education, employment, and entrepreneurship.
